  • Welcome to Tru Identity Photography+Designs

My name is Stefani Peterson, I am the lead photographer and owner of Tru Identity Photography+Designs.

I began Tru Identity in 2008, kind of by accident... I was a dance/drill team director and first grade teacher for three years when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. I made the team and decided to put teaching aside (I could always go back to it) while I embraced this amazing opportunity of being a DCC. During this time, I bought my first Canon camera, learned the ins-and-outs of photography and shooting in manual, and started photographing anything and everything (and everyone) that would let me. And as they say, the rest is history!

I love getting to know my clients and sharing in their special events! If you would like to talk further about your wedding photography or special event that needs to be remembered, feel free to shoot me an email by clicking the Contact link above.

    Thank you!
    Stefani

Wedding Wish #9

Wedding Wish #9- Do a Bridal Session

A Bridal session is a photo shoot with the bride in all her garb, including hair done, make up, veil, bouquet, shoes, etc. One of the best things about the bridal session is, it is in a sense, a run through for your wedding day. I have had several brides who shot there Bridals then wanted to change something… didn’t like their hair, flower arrangement, veil, etc. On the wedding day, it’s too late to change these things. Many hairstylists and makeup artists include a free trail when you book them, which really helps make sure you will like it day of.

You may be thinking, what am I going to do with 100 photos of myself? My suggestion is usually an album for Mom & Dad or a gift the day of to your future hubby. Many brides also do a large canvas or standout print to be included at the ceremony entrance or reception area. Then, you can use it in a wedding corner at your home with albums and prints or in a nook on the wall… or gift to Mom & Dad.

You want to get married once, so do it the right way. Go all in and do it right. You don’t want to wish you had taken more photos two years down the road, when that gorgeous dress (you probably spend a pretty penny on) is now hanging in you closet or box somewhere.

Don’t count on doing your bridals the day of your wedding, you will have other stuff going on and usually cannot afford to give 30 minutes to an hour of your time taking photos of you alone. I usually grab a couple of the bride but not to the extent of a bridal session.

Tip: Enjoy your bridals and show your personality! Bring fun props, pets, sassy shoes, or something that he or you enjoy or like as a hobby (a football, etc.) to be used in some of your photos. It just makes your session unique and fun!

And because photo are fun…
