Tru Identity Photography Blog bio picture
  • Welcome to Tru Identity Photography+Designs

My name is Stefani Peterson, I am the lead photographer and owner of Tru Identity Photography+Designs.

I began Tru Identity in 2008, kind of by accident... I was a dance/drill team director and first grade teacher for three years when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. I made the team and decided to put teaching aside (I could always go back to it) while I embraced this amazing opportunity of being a DCC. During this time, I bought my first Canon camera, learned the ins-and-outs of photography and shooting in manual, and started photographing anything and everything (and everyone) that would let me. And as they say, the rest is history!

I love getting to know my clients and sharing in their special events! If you would like to talk further about your wedding photography or special event that needs to be remembered, feel free to shoot me an email by clicking the Contact link above.

    Thank you!
    Stefani

Wedding Wish #7

Wedding Wish #7-  Do an Engagement Session

This one is definitely hits home for me. When my husband and I got engaged, I spoke to our photographer and opted out of doing and the engagement session. My thinking was, I already have a ton of photos of us together why would I want to pay for someone to take more of us…. WELL what I didn’t realize, was, YES, I had a ton of photos of us together but they were mostly all taken by US… you know, faces squished together, arm out trying to get as much as we can in the photo… oh no wait, to the left, oh… to the right… wait… you cut my head off… OR they were photos taken by a friend, and we just happen to look really cute together. Well, those photos are nice, I get it, they captured a moment, a fun location, birthday party, vacation, etc. BUT 3 years later, as I am realizing, you’ll have nothing… You’ll look back and wish you took the 2 hours out of your day, went to some fun locations, put together some nice outfits, and gathered some props (or pets) , and did an engagement session… with a professional photographer. We edit the photos, guide in “posing” or “un-posing”, and most importantly just want you to have a great time and show your love for each other. Not to mention you’ll get a ton of photos that will last a lifetime!

Again, my strongest belief and desire for every bride and groom, even if this is not your first marriage, is that you go into this marriage as though this is it, it will last a lifetime and you are only having this brief opportunity and time as a fiancé planning your wedding, ONCE… So take advantage of everything, every offer, every discount, every opportunity given to you as an engaged couple! Enjoy it, it goes by too fast!… then you’ll want to do it all again!!

It’s also the probably the only time, unless he attend the consultation, your photographer will get to meet the groom. Which.. could prevent an awkward wedding day… “now whose getting married here???”;)
