Our Lil Man or Lil Lady Gender Reveal Party

We had the most amazingly perfect Gender Reveal Party to find out the Gender of our little one. Our hearts are so full of joy and love right now I can hardly contain myself!

Right after we found out we were pregnant we knew we wanted to have a Reveal Party but not sure if we wanted to find out before or with everyone else. Eventually we decided we wanted the surprise and thus begun the journey to find the most exciting way I could think of to find out. I found a cute video of another couple finding out with confetti and I immediately started bawling and knew that is how I wanted to find out too. So Joe and I did a little brain storming on how we could make it work and decided we would just make Pink AND Blue poppers, put them in sperate bags, then on the day of we would hand over the sealed envelope to a friend or family member and they would open the card and bring out the correct bag. It’s not the most economical way but finding someone who sold pink or blue confetti poppers was impossible and I’m a bit of a control freak so just making them myself was perfect.

We actually went to have the Gender Checked twice, the first time the sonographer gave us a 95% on the gender and no pictures to prove it, so we decide we wanted to go get the 3D/4D ultrasound done (so cool by the way) and see if they could give us a 100% and pictures as evidence. And they did, that’s why at the end you will see two % on the card, but thankfully both answers were the same… phew….

Everything was handmade, including the confetti poppers. They are actually from Party City! All I did was dump out the confetti and take off the labels, then I made my own labels and put in my own confetti. Super simple! I made all the mustaches and lips using my handy-dandy Silhouette Cameo (my early Xmas present from  Joe), I love it and will definitely be using it a lot for future parties.

And on to the best part, the video and pics are priceless! So thankful the Lord has given us this little blessing.

ENJOY!

Hi Stefani! My husband and I LOVED your gender reveal and want to do the same thing for ours in a couple weeks! I know you mentioned that you just purchased pre-made poppers and filled them with the colored confetti but could you tell me a little more specifically how you did it?? It would be soooo appreciated!!

I have to ask – where did you find pink poppers (or even blue ones?) – my husband and I are planning our gender reveal party and just love this whole concept. I seem to only be able to find multi-color confetti!?

Hey, I love this! I am having a gender reveal party next weekend, and I have been looking every where for color specific party poppers. I can’t find them anywhere, and I am not savvy enough to make my own from scratch. I read that you got them from Party City, and just re made your own. How did you do that? It looked like you have a big one in the video ??? I was there today, (I live in Madison, WI) and I did not see any big ones. Can you give me some tips on what you did to make it work? Could I use the little ones do you think? I am going to have all of my gfs pull it at the same time, so I need at least 22 of them. (I know what I am having, they do not).

Thank you so much, and congrats on having a girl!

Hi! I was wondering how you made your cupcake labels and your popper labels? I love this idea and I have 3 weeks to prepare 🙂 Your help would be appreciative! Thanks!

I am really interested in how you made the party poppers. I know you bought at party city, emptied and put your own confetti in, but how? I didn’t know you could reuse party poppers. I would really like to do this for our gender reveal as well. Thanks!!

Hi!! I didn’t realize I had unread comments… sorry!! If it’s not too late, the poppers were very simple took a long time though. First, I emptied the confetti from the poppers just by taking off the lids and pouring out the confetti. Do not pop them, once you do they dont go back down. I kept the circle paper top though to put back on it at the end. Then I put in my colored confetti (pink or blue, accordingly) and put the circle paper top back on. Then I used label paper (from Staples) and printed my labels and wrapped them around the poppers with a little overlap at the top to keep the circle top on and I was done!!!
Hope that helped.

Thank you, that does help. At Party City, are the Party Poppers called Super Party Poppers?

I love everything about your Gender Reveal!! How long did it take you to put everything together? And what program did you use to print your labels and signs? We are getting ready for our GR in October and love what you did!
